Innovative Subsea Technologies

Commissioning

Engineering and Safety

Deep Down, Inc. offers detailed commission planning and engineering requirements prior to a team's arrival at a platform, rig or site. This increases efficiency and reduces the likelihood of problems and down time. Our engineers, technicians and project managers ensure success when they work with your engineers to identify dangers and project issues.

Our commissioning teams have been involved in topside connections and commissioning in the Gulf of Mexico since its conception in 1997. Familiarity with projects through involvement in all aspects of planning and risk assessment helps our teams complete projects safely and efficiently.

Fluids and Safety

Working with chemicals associated with commissioning in the subsea field requires careful planning. We have an excellent record of work with hazardous chemicals as we use various systems to minimize the risks involved. We are proud of our development of the "Bat Shield", which aids us in leak detection and eliminating most hazards.

Among the many fluids our teams have handled are:

Alcohol Methanol
Asphaltine Dispersant Oil Based Control Fluid
Corrosion Inhibitor Paraffin Inhibitor
Diesel Water Based Control Fluids
Glycol 100% Xylene

Topside Connections

Our personnel have experience with both hard tube and hoses between umbilicals and topside pumps and control stations. A minimal size team travels to the platform and works with welders to perform work required on welded connections. We have a long and proven record of accomplishment.

For projects specifying threaded medium pressure connections between topside and umbilical, our team runs either hard tube or hoses between the control panel and the umbilicals.

Where hoses are preferred, we are the only company in the world certified to crimp Parker hoses in the field.

Pumping and Testing

Deep Down evaluates work and provides a specially designed package of personnel and equipment to complete the job with excellence and efficiency. Our variety of pumping systems and equipment give us the tools to "Get it Done!"
